ENON — Residents of the Greenon Local School District are invited to an informational session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, about the district’s upcoming levies.Residents will vote on two tax issues on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for the Greenon district. The first is a renewal levy, which would maintain the district’s current local funding and would not increase taxes. The second is a new operating levy that would generate $1.2 million for the operations of the district. The 4.96-mill levy would cost $173.60 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home. The district is in need of additional funding due to decreased state funding and increased costs of doing business, despite implementing more than $1 million in cuts over the last three years.
