Xenia girls take fourth at districts TROY — The Xenia girls’ track and field team finished in fourth place at the Division I district track and field meet on Friday night at Troy High School. Fairborn finished 14th overall.
Xenia’s Brittiney Latimer finished in first place in the girls’ 100 meter dash (12.69) and second in the 200 (25.72). She also anchored the first place (49.45) 4x100 relay team of Rachelle Bowen, Alexis Cokes and Mari King and the first place (4:01.32) 4x400 team of Cokes, King and Cidni Latimer.
Xenia’s 4x200 girls’ relay team of Bowen, Cokes, King and Tasha Taylor finished second overall (1:44.83).
The Lady Bucs’ Cidni Latimer was third in the 400 dash (1:01.24), and Taylor was third in the long jump (15-05.75), Itobore Odje was fifth in the discus (100-01) and Natassia Roberts was fifth in the shot put (32-09).
Fairborn’s Allie Roberts finished seventh overall in the 800.
On the boys’ side, Fairborn finished eighth overall. Xenia was 12th. Wayne won the event.
The Skyhawks had a pair of qualifiers in the boys’ 1600 run, as Jordan Redd won the event (4:32.64) and Tyler Wlazlo finished fourth (4:41.27). Redd also qualified in the 3200 run, where he finished third (9:39.88).
Fairborn’s Brian Jennings qualified for regionals in the shot put with a second place finish (49-09.50).
Xenia’s Jordan Dotson was second in the finals of the 400 dash (50.13), and Ben Hutton was seventh in the 200 dash.
Jamal Story finished in a tie for fourth place in the high jump (5-10), but missed out on advancing after Wayne’s Javon Harrison won a jump off.
Xenia’s 4x200 relay team (Robert Harden, Hutton, Ibrahim Abdul Karim and James Sanford) and the 4x400 relay team of Dotson, Nick Esprit, Hutton and Robert Harden both finished sixth.
