Spain leads Hawks past Wayne, 6-1 HUBER HEIGHTS — Fairborn’s Courtnie Spain was untouchable again.
Spain held Wayne hitless for six innings as Fairborn cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Warriors in GWOC crossover action on Monday evening. Spain allowed one earned run in the seventh inning on two hits, Wayne’s only two hits of the game. She also struck out eight and walked five. It was the first earned run Spain had allowed all season.
At the plate for Fairborn, Jennifer Neal had a big night with three hits in five plate appearances and had two stolen bases. Brittany Duncan went 2-for-3 with two walks, Jessie Little went 2-for-4 with a double and Becca Davis went 1-for-5 for the Lady Skyhawks.
