Fairborn volleyball drops second contest in a row; loses to Fairfield FAIRBORN — The Fairborn boys’ volleyball team dropped its second straight match to start the season, this one to Fairfield by scores of 25-19, 16-25, 15-25, 17-25.
Dillon Romans and Nick Umbdenstock led the Skyhawks with seven kills apiece. Ryan LeMay had four kills, Dillon Arewood had three kills and Eric Wilcox had two for Fairborn. Ryan Doster had 20 assists for the Skyhawks.
“We looked a lot better and played more like a team, but we are still not in the swing of things,” Fairborn head coach Eric Marthaler said. “Fairfield is a tough opponent and is tough every year. They brought their A-game and we played tough, but we ran out of gas toward the end.”
Fairborn (0-2) is off for spring break and will not return to action until April 12.
