Beavercreek and Fairborn qualify for district bowling meet KETTERING — Both the Beavercreek and Fairborn boys’ and girls’ bowling teams qualified for the next round after solid finishes at the sectional tournament at Woodman Lanes on Friday and Saturday.
On the boys’ side, Beavercreek finished in fifth place with a tournament total of 4002 pins. Fairborn just made it into districts with a seventh place finish (3969 pins). Xenia missed out on qualifying with an 11th place finish.
Fairborn’s Austin Cox was the top finisher on the boys’ side with a 633 total, and teammate Andrew Johnson finished right behind him with a 631. Beavercreek’s Brock Hines rolled a 628.
Xenia’s top finisher on the boys’ side was Brandon Strunk with a 605.
On the girls’ side, the Beavers finished third with 3635 pins, while Fairborn was fifth with 3440 pins. Xenia was 20th.
Carroll’s Ronni Burns qualified individually in the girls’ event with a 579, good enough for sixth place overall. Courtney Hobbs led the Beavers with a 578, and Fairborn was led by Kerry York with a 536.
