Charley M. Evans Jr. Charley M. Evans Jr., age 72, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004 in his residence. He was born on Dec. 4, 1931, in Birmingham, Ala., to Charley and Anna Mae Evans. Mr.
Evans served and retired from the U.S. Air Force, he also help to develop the first computers used in the Air Force. Charley was a member of the VFW and the Optimus Club in the community of Yellow Springs. He leaves to cherish him memory his mother, Anna Mae Evans of Jonesboro, Ga.; two sons, Charley M. III, and Clayton M. Evans both of Yellow Springs, Ohio; three sisters, Estella Morrison of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeanette (Ted) Ball and Dorothy (Joe) Thomas both of Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers, Rev. Sam Evans of Pennsylvania, Sidney (Wilma) Evans of Houston, Texas, Roy Evans of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ricky (Sarah) Evans of Jonesboro, Ga.; four grandchildren, Charley M. IV, Christopher M. Evans, Kristin M. and James A. Kessler. His father, wife, Mollie Evans, sister, Mary Hooks and two brothers, Phillip and Henry Evans, preceded him in death.
A Private Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 with Graveside Service following in Dayton National Cemetery.
