DAYTON — The Dayton Foundation’s social media photo entry campaign #SpreadtheGood is back with ways to highlight the good in Greater Dayton and with more unrestricted grant money to award — up to $2,000.
The 2015 #SpreadtheGood with The Dayton Foundation campaign will kicked-off on the Foundation’s Facebook and Twitter pages on Oct. 24 -National Make a Difference Day.
Greater Dayton is invited to begin uploading action shots of themselves volunteering for Dayton-area nonprofits to Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #SpreadtheGood and tagging The Dayton Foundation (Facebook.com/TheDaytonFoundation or Twitter.com/DaytonFdn). Posts should include a short message of how the individual is helping the organization make a difference. Each photo will enter the featured nonprofit into the Foundation’s Community Share to Give Challenge that will begin on Monday, Nov. 23.
All photos must be submitted by 5 p.m. Nov. 20. For examples, on how to #SpreadtheGood, visit spreadthegooddayton.tumblr.com to views last year’s entries.
Starting Monday, Nov. 23, the Foundation will display the photos on Facebook. The community will have one week Nov. 23 to 12 p.m. Dec. 1) to share their favorite organization’s photos as many times as possible. On #GivingTuesday Dec. 1, the Foundation will announce the three organizations with the most photos shares and award the first ($2,000), second ($1,500) and third ($500) place #SpreadtheGood grants. The Challenge is open to certified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations that benefit citizens within the Greater Dayton region, Montgomery, Miami, Greene, Darke, Preble and Warren (north) counties.
