Family Fun Day to support child advocacy center

August 7, 2014

KETTERING — Michael’s House Child Advocacy Center has announced their seventh annual “Family Fun Day and Cookout” is set for 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at Elsa’s Kettering, 1216 E. Stroop Road.

The outdoor event features children’s games, clowns, balloons, face painting, food and beverages. There are also silent and live auctions of donated items. Some of those items include a guitar autographed by country superstar Brad Paisley, a Dayton Dragons package, a 32-inch television, gift certificates for dining and services and much more.

“This year, the first 50 people to buy tickets will receive a bonus gift bag,” said Michael’s House Development Director Elaine Mercurio. The facility is named for her son, Dr. Michael Mercurio, an endodontist who passed away suddenly in 2007.

“Michael’s wonderful friends at Elsa’s Kettering help us with this event each year and we are so grateful,” Mercurio added.

Admission is $25 per person; children 16 and under are free. To reserve tickets, go to daytonchildrens.thankyou4caring.org/events.

All event proceeds directly benefit Michael’s House, a non-profit organization which provides a warm and welcoming environment to investigate cases of child abuse and neglect as well as provide assistance to the victims.
