XENIA — The Xenia Area Community Theater recently held an award ceremony for the 2013-14 season.
It was the first time X*ACT gave out awards to its actors.
Best Actor honors went to Kettering resident Al Yarcho in “Angel Street.” Best Actress was Bellbrook resident Sara Duibley in “Angel Street.” Best Supporting Actor was Xenia resident Russ Dern in “Angel Street.” Best Supporting Actress went to Xenia resident Edith Waugh in “Hamlet.” Best Director was Xenia resident Tony Copper for “Hamlet.” Best Costume Design went to Xenia resident Cheryl Dern for “Angel Street.” Booth Award went to Xenia resident Harry Woosley and Xenia resident Emily Crumb for “Hamlet.” Woosley also received the Olivia Award for Outstanding Volunteerism. Best Set Design went to Xenia resident Steve Edwards for “Lion in Winter.” Best Set Art went to Xenia resident Lynn Brown for “Lion in Winter.” The X*ACT Gallery Award went to Xenia resident Karen King.
X*ACT also inducted several into its Hall of Fame:
• Franklin resident Orion Monroe for his contributions as a founder, first executive director, actor and director.
• Olivia Gladman for her contributions as a founding director and volunteer as well as her roles as director, actor, costumer and more.
• Gary Robinson for his contributions as a director and actor.
• Janet Haines for her contributions as a founding director and volunteer.
Gladman, Robinson and Haines were inducted posthumously. All resided in Xenia.
A second awards ceremony is scheduled for next summer.
