XENIA — Two Xenia students were recently the Southwest Ohio Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) at Urbana University.
Makayla Day, who attends the Dayton STEM High School, and Alyssa Jones, who attends Xenia High School, were student ambassadors as the program celebrated its 20th anniversary. HOBY is a program that inspires and develops the global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. More than 175 sophomores attend each year, along with a staff of more than 60 volunteers.
HOBY was under the direction of Xenia resident Donna Sizemore. Day is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Godfrey and Natasha Day. Jones is the daughter of Melissa Wade-Jones and John Jones Sr.
