XENIA — Dayton Chapter of the American Heart Association Dayton Chapter Heart Ball brought together area leaders to raise funds for local efforts to prevent and cure heart disease and strokes.
Some of the funds underwrite research grants at Wright State University where post-doctoral scientists are studying the biomechanical causes of heart disease and stroke.
“Heart disease is a family risk factor for Dorothy and me, and I see its effects in our hospitals, too, so we believe it’s important to do our part,” said Greene Memorial Hospital & Soin Medical Center President Terry Burns.
Burns joined Xenia Mayor Marsha Bayless and Fairborn Mayor Dan Kirkpatrick for last month’s Heart Ball.
