XENIA — Unforeseen circumstances have once again delayed the completion of road work at the intersection of North Detroit Street and Kinsey Road.
In a release from the city, poor weather conditions experienced over recent days and an undocumented telephone line discovered while digging have prevented Vectren work crews from finishing the gas main work prior to yesterday’s projected end date.
Vectren officials are now anticipating that — weather permitting — eastbound Kinsey Road will be re-opened to traffic by 6 a.m. Saturday. In order to attain sufficient width for two-way through traffic on North Detroit St., Vectren will first need to complete the work to the west side of the intersection (toward the Shell gas station), which will then allow the opening of westbound Kinsey Road.
Vectren now anticipates this work to be completed and traffic opened each way on North Detroit Street and westbound Kinsey Road April 18 — weather permitting. Please continue to follow the posted detour routes until Kinsey Road is re-opened in its entirety to traffic.
The work was originally slated to be completed April 7.
