XENIA —Tonight is opening night for the Xenia Area Community Theater’s presentation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

It’s being billed as “Shakespeare’s classic at a quick clip and a soundtrack that’s 70’s hip.”

The production, adapted and directed by Tony Copper, features love, intrigue and gun-play as the young Prince of Denmark returns home to find his father is dead and his mother has married his murderer. Brevity may be the soul of wit but it will also be the soul of this production.

Tickets for tonight’s 6:30 p.m. show, which features an opening night gala, cost $17.50 each. The show continues April 5, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 and 13 at 3 p.m. General admission tickets for those dates are $15 each. Tickets for members, students and seniors are $12.

For reservations call 937-372-0516. Tickets can be purchased online http://www.XeniaACT.org.

The theater is located at 45 E. Second St. in Xenia
