Centerville woman dies in crash in Spring Valley Twp.

SPRING VALLEY TOWNSHIP — The identity of a woman killed in a one-car accident Monday has been identified as Betsy Kitch, 81, of Centerville.

The accident occurred in the 2300 block of Lower Bellbrook Road, just south of Spahr Road, at 1:17 p.m. Monday.

Units from the Greene County Sheriff and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded along with Spring Valley and Sugarcreek Township fire departments.

John Kitch Jr., 79, of Centerville, was traveling southbound on Lower Bellbrook Road when his 2014 Hyundai Tuscon went off the right side of the road at a curve and struck a culvert. The vehicle overturned and ended up facing northbound.

A passenger in the vehicle, Betsy Kitch, 81, of Centerville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken by Care Flight with serious injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the Patrol’s crash reconstruction unit is assisting with the investigation.
