XENIA — The Greene Community Health Foundation is “glowing” with excitement over an upcoming event for local Greene County businesses and the general public this January. Bowling for Babies is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek.
Once again, the bowling lanes will come alive with glow-in-the-dark effects, exciting lights and music to support Greene County’s youngest residents.
Businesses are encouraged to register teams of up to 6 people each to strengthen staff trust and build teamwork, while having a little fun. If registering less than six bowlers, participants may be placed on a lane with other bowlers. Registration is now open and businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the Group Rate of just $15 per person by Jan. 22, 2014 when registering 10 employees or more.
The Early Bird rate for general admission is $20 per person by Jan. 22, 2014. Youth ages 12 and younger are just $15 each no early bird rate for youth. After Jan. 22 including the day of the event, the general admission cost is $25 each for ages 13 and older. Advance registration is preferred so the appropriate number of lanes can be reserved.
Now in its fourth year, Bowling for Babies is a fundraiser for the various children’s clinics available to the public at the Greene County Combined Health District (GCCHD) located in Xenia. Health district services include shots for children, teeth cleanings and dental checkups, exams and screenings for children and adolescents, and other programs that promote health, nutrition and school readiness.
GCCHD programs include Women, Infants and Children, Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps and Help Me Grow. Thousands of Greene County children and their families receive help from the health district and many of the individuals they care for are under- or un- insured. A part of this family-friendly event featuring two and a half hours of glow bowling, prizes, food and fun.
