ENON — The Village of Enon Police Department has added another part-time officer to its ranks.

Mayor Tim Howard swore in Stephen K. Ritchie Nov. 26 before a large turnout of friends and family members, including Ritchie’s wife, Rachel and their son, Samuel.

Ritchie, 29, is a self-employed carpenter and has attended Sinclair Community College. The officer also attended the Greene County Criminal Justice Academy, where he graduated on June 5.

“Stephen started the process to become an Enon police officer in September 2013, and this evening marks the finish of that particular part of his journey,” Enon Police Chief Lewis Wilcox said.

Wilcox noted that Ritchie would begin his duties Dec. 1 and would be subject to a six-month probationary period of employment.
